Growing up in Petersham, a stone’s throw from the then emerging Insight Meditation Society and a short drive from the Center for Mindfulness at UMass, Éowyn Ahlstrom’s interest in mindfulness and wellbeing started in her youth. After years of personal practice and professional training, she developed the
Middle Path Healing Arts approach to well-being. Éowyn holds the highest registry mark obtainable for yoga teachers from the Yoga Alliance and is a certified, licensed massage therapist with years of experience. Embodying mindfulness, and teaching others how to do the same, is the heart of her practice and work. She has served as an assistant director and instructor at the Mindfulness Center at Brown University and an MBSR teacher at the Center for Mindfulness at UMass. Her master’s degree is from the American College of Education, where she studied health and wellness. She is also the author of a volume of poems about mindfulness practice entitled Mindscapes: Practice Poems, as well as a forthcoming e-book on mindful movement. All along the way in developing the Middle Path Healing Arts integrative wellness approach, Éowyn’s intention has been to learn and share practices that lessen pain, stress and suffering and support fellow humans interested in deepening happiness, contentment and health. So, when she returned to the Quabbin region to make her long-time home, getting involved at Listening Wellness Center was a perfect fit. Here Éowyn offers private sessions for mindful massage therapy, as well as personalized mindfulness and yoga instruction series. She also leads in-person group classes on various wellness themes at the yoga studio from time to time. Last but not least, she serves on the Listening Board of Directors and deeply appreciates the Listening community.
Éowyn is unavailable for Massage until after August 1st.
